Pecatonica, Illinois Speed Traps

The speed limit drops from 55 to 30. It then drops to 25. Locals get warnings, everyone else gets a ticket.

Illinois State Police District 16 Headquarters is in the Southeast corner of this intersection. Patrol Cars can be seen driving in and out of the station at all hours, day and night. Usually, there is a lighted portable message sign set up on a concrete pad in front of the station displaying messages to Eastbound traffic, but there is a radar gun attached to the sign and active when the sign is on. The same sign has also been seen facing Westbound traffic at Ghost-town to the East when the Winnebago County Fair is in session, but displays route info.

Police sit at Fire Station or High School and get you as you come into town. Limit changes from 55 to 30 at high school drive and sign is behind city limit sign.
