Plainfield, Illinois Speed Traps
On Grove Rd, 1 mile S of Hy 126, Sits in Church parkng lot
County cop sits in church parking lot. I travel this rd frequently; Grove Road runs north-south between Caton Farm Rd and Hy 126. Church is 3/4-1 mile south of Hy 126.
steiner between route 126 and 143rd
at night you cannot see the cops sitting in the middle of the median because there are no lights
Rte 30 and 127th Street
As you turn onto Rte 30 heading Northwest toward Aurora, there is frequently an officer sitting in the parking lot of the Hometown Furniture store. The squad car hides just behind the building and gets speeders zooming up Rte 30, particularly on weekday mornings around 7 a.m. This is a two-lane, 50 mph road and cars get really aggressive about passing and going over the speed limit.
Lockport St. and Bartlett St.
The police actually stand on the corner of Lockport St. and Bartlett, one or two on each side of Lockport St. with radar and since there is a Stop sign, they also check for seat belts especially now in the warmer weather!
Eastern Ave near RR tracks
The cops sit here a lot. Usually they are in the parking lot of the white commercial building near the tracks or at the entrance to Springhill Subdivision. Sometime they are in marked cars but most of the time in an unmarked. I live off of Eastern Ave and see them here a lot.
