Plainfield, Illinois Speed Traps
Lockport Road
Downtown Plainfield has cops that sit inbetween the little shops and buildings looking for speeders. The limit is 25mph and increases to 35mph the closer you get to Van Dyke Road. I got a ticket on Rt 30 one day and the next two days I saw the same cop radaring in a different spot between the buildings. The cop vehical was a blazer type. I have a radar detector and it did not go off until I was on top of the cop.

Northbound 59. cop was sitting in the "nicks cozy corner" strip mall. i was weaving around trucks. got me going 63 in a 45. no arguing that one. really easy to lose track of your speed because of the open road

Lockport Street near Downtown
A Plainfield cop on a motorcycle uses the downtown area of Plainfield as his playground. I got a seatbelt ticket from him last year, and just got another one this year. I see him there all the time writing tickets, non stop! He rides a black Harley and seems to come out of nowhere. Guess I’ll start wearing my seatbelt in Plainfield.

Plainfield cops are wasting way too much time on traffic enforcement. I have a friend that works for the city and he concurs w/me. Any where on RT 59 could be a trap. There are two officers in Plainfield that get awards from the city on a monthly basis for traffic stops. Spend my tax dollars on something more useful folks. Maybe get the kids to stop sparay painting my trucks at night in the Wolf Creek Industrial Park.
