Plano, Illinois Speed Traps
STOP intersection 2 way crossing. They stay off the main road watching from ajointing roads. DON’T RUN THE STOP SIGNS!
Between Eldamain and Rt 47 on River Road the police have decided this is a real gold mine, and it is. There is no stop sign between Fox River Rd and Rt 47 and people usually fly down this road. It is now a golden opportunity for ticket writers.
Going down Rock Creek Road from the North, you will hit the town of Plano off this Back Country road. The speed Limit goes from 55 to 30 mph, residential zone 250 feet before you hit the intersection of sweetbriar place and rock creek road. There is a bridge on rock creek road just after sweetbriar place that the Plano PD hides behind. The sit there in the afternoon rush as people come back to their neighborhood.
They also sit just east of sweetbriar in the am rush anticipating people in hurry to get to work.
If you are taking Route 34 around Plano and even Yorktown (Kendall County), be careful of the dramatic speed reductions in that area. I was on my way to Sandwich from the Southwest suburbs late at night and I didn’t pay too close attention to the speed limit changes and was pulled over. If you are nice to the officers and explain to them that you are new to the area, they’ll most likely let you off with just a warning. Drive safe, guys!
Officers will sit behind EAGLE supermarket waiting for unsuspecting speeders heading north on Lew from route 34.
