Pleasant Plains, Illinois Speed Traps
Coming in to and going out of town.
A small town one drives through on the way to and from Springfield. The speed drop is not well posted where it goes quickly from 55mph to 45mph then drops to 35mph. The officer that pulled us over because my husband hadn’t seen the sign was absolutely rigid in his conviction. My husband is in his late 50’s and, contrary to many, always obeys the speed limit. He’s never had a ticket….until this town. The officer refused to even believe him that he’d never gotten a ticket (not even a warning) and didn’t cut us any slack at all. It’s just a short loop through a tiny village, but watch out, they’re out for blood and to capitalize on anyone they can catch.
