Steger, Illinois Speed Traps
Sauk Trail Street
Traveling East out of the Forest Preserve into Steger speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. Cops frequently sit in Parking Lot of Rental company on south side of Sauk Trail. Traffic usually slows drastically right here because it’s monitored often.
31st Street near Union Avenue
The corner of 31st & Union is a 4-way stop. They will occasionaly sit at the firestation/library. Later evening, they will sit down 31st to see people blowing the stop sign. There is almost always a cop there.
Steger Road near Chicago Road
On Steger Rd., just West of Chicago Rd., there is a small church. A Steger cop will almost always be parked there in the lot. Because of the Church building and trees, you don’t seem him until you are on top of him. Watch out, they love using instant-on radar, so don’t go blazing down this road with your radar detector.
