80th Avenue near 179th Street
179th and 80th ave is not so much a speed trap but they have been cracking down on the "No Turn On Red" violators. Be careful and pay attention to signage or you’ll see the reflection of mars lights in your rear view mirror and be looking for your insurance card.
179th Street near 84th Avenue
New road, new speed trap. Gotta watch this one cuz Tinley cars are black as midnight and squad sits just off of 179th and west of 80th ave. New curvy road 30MPH and they have been pinching people left and right.
167th Street near Harlem Avenue
167th st., the 1/2 mile or so stretch between Harlem Ave. and Central Ave is a Gold mine for the Tinley Park Police. There are 3 spots on this stretch of road that are enforced using regular and Instant On Radar. The speed limit is ridiculous on this 2 lane wide open road, 35MPH.
The first: Just before Harlem ave. in the Tinley Park water treatment center, A Tinley cop sits in the lot, he likes instant on radar at night.
The second: At the mid-point between Harlem and Central, there is a cemetery entrance, a cop will sit in there, again, they use Instant-On at night.
The third; Right before Central ave., right before the tracks, there is a small side street. A cop sits there, clocking you as you come down the hill. Instant-On used here too.
163rd Oak Park Avenue
Police officer sits in Parking Lot of St. Boniface Church,East side of Street – has been seen during the day and also late at night or early in the morning (at this time looking for drunk drivers.
175th Street near Harlem Avenue
There are several hiding spots along this road between Harlem and LaGrange. They are predominantly on the North side of the road. Officers will often hide in park area lots at approx. 77th ave. 81st. and 85th ave. The parking lot of Prarieview school is also popular. Speed limit is 30mph but it is easy to do 40+
