Wadsworth, Illinois Speed Traps

On Delaney Rd between Rt 173 and State Line Rd

Wadsworth PD (often contracted by Wintrop Harbor and Lake Co. Sheriff) Hide all up and down this road, especially near and on the rural intersection midway down Chicago Ave. They also hide in people’s driveways (with permission). They *do* record the offense, so if you blow the traffic sign, you are on camera. Their frequency, if you have a scanner/radio, is 155.610.

The section of Wadworth road between US Rt 41 and Delany Road. Anyone thats driven through this section knows to be careful. Often patrolled by Winthrop Harbor Police contracted by Wadsworth and Lake County Sheriff also. They obviously need to meet a certain quota as Wadsworth needs to pay for the service. Be Careful!

Residents of Cashmore and Chicago have been complaining about too much traffic. Instead of improving the roads, Wadsworth government has employed heavy enforcement of 30 MPH speed limits on these roads. Most of the time it’s a box that tells you your speed (the box I saw didn’t have any cameras inside), other times it’s a cop on the side streets. Do not take the "Thank you for not speeding" sign to mean you are on the honor system here.
