Waukegan, Illinois Speed Traps

Every once and a while there will be a cop sitting at the drop off point of a hotel on the left side of Green bay road if youre traveling North, a few hundred feet past the Mazda dealership just before Classic Chevy Toyota. He got me the other day.

Between Belvidere St. "Rt120" and 10th street. They sit on the west side of Greenbay Rd. and watch for you as the speed limit changes from 35 mph to 45 mph heading south, and 45mph to 35 mph going north.

Officer sits on west side of Green Bay on 10th, next to Forest Preserve. Typically, tickets traffic traveling north to south. Caution…has been known to ticket at less than five over limit.

Multiple officer involvement, one officer with car parked on Cardinal Healthcare south property, partially hidden by brush, officer outside of vehicle using Radar/Lidar clocks motorists opposite of rush hour direction (I.E., evening enforcement involves heavy northbound traffic, enforcing light southbound speeding traffic) and radios waiting officers the offender’s vehicle info and/or plate info. Multiple stops observed during evening commute, possible morning commute enforcement as well.

A cruiser will often park under the bridge on the inside median facing south. The speed limit is 55 mph, dropping to 45. Traffic is often doing 65-70 along the stretch.
