Speed limit in this area is 35 due to heavy congestion. Coming over the overpass for railroad tracks, first street on right is Conde, near the Gel Sert plant. Unmarked police cars waiting in the parking lot next to the pond, easily hidden by trees & park sign

Southbound on IL 59 at Blair Street

West Chicago, IllinoisMar 04, 20110 Comments

As you head SOUTH on IL 59, just BEFORE Blaire street intersection, there is a hill with a 45 mph sign. At the BOTTOM of the hill, less than 100 yard down the hill, there is a 35mph sign! Everyone naturally going 45-50mph down the hill on southbound IL 59 gets ticketed at the 35mph sign at bottom of hill. The officer said, "yea we get alot of people here (smile), already 10 cars in the last few minutes". Big money maker for West Chicago! Shame on the WC Police Department – really sad!

North Avenue-eastbound just before Prince Crossing

West Chicago, IllinoisSep 10, 20100 Comments

Officers like to hide behind parked trucks in business’ driveways during the morning rush, before the companies open for the day and take their trucks on the road. Also, about 200 yards further east, police like to hide in the business parking lot just beyond the Drive-In Theater, hidden by a copse of trees, invisible until the last second

Rt 59 and North Ave

West Chicago police have several unmarked vehicles that hide on the north bound side of IL 59 just south of North Ave and in the shopping center just north of North Ave. They also use the side streets on the train track overpass south of North Ave. Cop gave me a break only issued me 2 citations said he could have gave me 3. I am retired military showed him my ID but no break given.
