Willow Springs, Illinois Speed Traps
A WSP car will sit in the median at the 87Th stoplight.
A WSP car or Dodge durango will sit in the median a few inches away from the 87th and LaGrange stoplight and monitor traffic from both directions. If you are driving over the hill coming from Nolton Avenue be aware and be alert.
79th/171/294 exit, on LaGrange Rd.
State Police car hides under the bridge, around the turn, so you can’t see him.
Willow Springs Road South of Archer
Squiggly road traveling northbound to Archer, speed goes from 50 down to 30. You must slam on the brakes, or get a 20 over! Cop sits in the preserve lot. Not for law enforcement….just for revenue…….WATCH YOUR WALLET IN THIS TOWN, AND HAVE FUN MISSING A DAY OFF WORK !
LaGrange Road under the Archer Ave. viaduct
This is a slick one, no time to react… cop sits under the viaduct in the center median, monitors mostly the northbound LaGrange road traffic, just after you pass the 87th street intersection. As soon as you make the sweeping left curve, which is the first viaduct you go under, cop is on your left side. LaGrange is 55mph up to 87th St., then drops to 45. Not always a willow springs cop, sometimes cook county sheriff. They do tag team also, spotter sits under the viaduct, and second cop sits up further, by the Sanitary canal service road. And in summer months, they do run motorcycle cops, too.
