Yorkville, Illinois Speed Traps
Rt 47 just north of river
Squad car is usually sitting in unused parking lot access the street from the central park pagoda.
I live within sight of location and see at least 3 cars pulled over daily.
Illinois Route 47
From Lisbon to Yorkville, Rt. 47 has multiple county sheriff police cars waiting in parking lots for people breaching the speed limit. There are many farm operation and store lots they park at on the lefthand side of the road going toward Yorkville. They also travel up and down this road too.
East Van Emmon at Mill
Heading east into the city on Van Emmon right by the Memoral Park the speed limit goes from 55 to 35 to 30 quickly. Officer will sit with the parked cars on south side of Van Emmon near the corner at Mill St. As soon as you make the slight left turn at the east end of the park and head into the city if you are going over 30 you are caught. This is true any time of the day and especially on the weekends. Watch your speed as it is a slight downhill from the park to the stop sign at Mill St.
Between 47 and 71 on Van Emmon Rd
Cop sits on a wooded unbuilt subdivision rd right after the limit changes from 50 to 30 and if you don”t slow down fast enough you are ticketed.
Fox and Rt. 47 in the old firestation lot
Yorkville PD will park in the lot behind the old firehouse at the light at the intersection of Fox Rd. and Rt. 47 at all different times of day.
