Oolitic Road

Bedford, IndianaMar 06, 20081 Comments

Located from the top of the hill in Bedford (next to Bedford Vetinary Center) to the Oolitic bottoms (sitting at Sunrise Pools). Heading up the hill and into Bedford, the speed limit goes from 45 to 30 at the city limits. If you aren’t slowed to at least 35 at that point, they will get you. Going down the hill heading to Oolitic, you have to physically brake the car to keep it under 50 going down that steep hill. Just last night I had "coasted" up to 53 and he flashed his lights at me as a warning I guess. It can be either County or State Police. Seems to be mostly evening/night, but that just may be due to my timeschedule.

US Highway 50 Business aka Mitchell Rd near Sandpit Road

State and County cops occasionally like to sit on the Northbound shoulder around 9am and catch people who haven’t slowed down after the SR37 ramp.Cops usually wait somewhere between Sandpit road and Elliott Limestone. The bend in the road makes them hard to see, but my radar detector usually picks up on them in time. I’ve seen plenty of people get pulled over there.

Speed limit is 60 on SR37 before the split, after the ramp it is 45. Southbound lane speed limit is 50 in the same place!

State Highway 37 near Between Bedford & Bloomington

Indiana State Police running the highway and sitting along the shoulder primarally between Trogdon Lane and the stoplight at the BP & Citgo stations. Do not be surprised to see as many as 3 State Troppers working this 3 mile stretch very hard any time of the day or night.

Hwy 37 Between bedford and bloomington

unmarked camero’s, various crown vics and a blue taurus plus regular marked cars, i got a ticket for 65 in a 55, hwy 37 was designed originaly for 70-80 mph speeds, its pretty much straight with long sweeping hills here and there. cops are milking this stretch!! why are cops hiding!? isnt it better if people know they are present so they wont be tempted!? and cameros!? come on!! these things cost a ton and they go wayyy too fast!! the majority of cops killed in the line of duty is do to high speed chases! is it worth it over a speeding ticket?
