Tapp Road near State Highway 37

Bloomington, IndianaOct 19, 20070 Comments

Tapp road from 37 to Rockport road is a popular speed trap because the road starts as four lane traffic then switches to 2 lane and that will fool you. The speed limit for this entire section of road should be 40 to 45 mph, but it’s 30 mph (city hall needs the money). It’s hard to hold your speed at 30 mph down the steep hills and the police know that. Police like to set up at the old quarry house or across from the Surgery Center and they are there almost daily. I was ticketed at 49 in a 30 and the ticketing officer told me that he agreed the speed limit is too low for the area.
