Cedar Lake, IndianaApr 02, 20081 Comments

As 133rd Street stays under construction between Route 41 and Parrish, the speed limit is 20 mph. There are only a couple of signs each direction, but as the road zig-zags, they are easy to miss. There are a number of empty parking lots they can sit in. EASY pickings for the C.L.P.D.

South of the stop light at 145th and Morse. They sit in the access area for the sewage treatment lift station. They are also using the area that was Gards Laundry but is now an empty gravel lot. At the empty lot they tend to sit farther back off the road.

Cedar Lake Police regularly sit between the dental and doctor offices out of sight trying to catch speeders. This usually occurs during the morning rush

Parrish Avenue near First Baptist Church

Cedar Lake, IndianaAug 03, 20070 Comments

They sit in the First Baptist Church parking lot, which is located just South of Jane Ball Elementary & Wilco Foods, & 133rd, and because of the church sign & landscaping you won’t see them until it is to late. The Church has 2 entries/exits so they nap both Northbound & Southbound vehicles.

US Highway 41 near W 133 Avenue

Cedar Lake, IndianaOct 30, 20061 Comments

The speed limit goes from 55-45-35 on US41 as you approach the stoplight at 133 AVE and the back up again after the light. They sit in driveways and parking lots right at the 35 signs. They tend to focus their attention more on the north side of the light but can also sit on the south side from time to time. They’re not too bad regularly but it picks up toward the end of the month. Keep an eye out for county officers as well as they also tend to frequent the area.
