Chesterton, Indiana Speed Traps

This speedtrap is in Chesterton on 11th Street which is also called Meridian. Police Officers like to sit in the Chesterton High School parking lot right next to the football field in a little parking area where they radar speeders. I was clocked doing 50 in a 30 at 10 pm at night and of course I got a ticket. I have seen many Police Officers there.

Just past the Chesterton exit (26) on I-94 westbound, there is a fairly good curve and a bridge. State troopers like to sit hidden well in the left lane shoulder by the bridge and will catch people coming by in the hammer lane. Sometimes they work alone and will put out and pull over, other times they have "buddies" sitting up ahead and will radio to the descriptions of offending cars and they will pull over too. This is just past where the speed limit is reduced from 65 to 55 for the next 26 miles to Illinois border. Speed limit should remain 65 till at least exit 15, but this is a good revenue maker for the state. Sometimes marked cars, usually unmarked crown vics, or camaros.
