Hammond and Highland police alternate in sitting at the Hammond/Highland city border just north of the little calumet river facing south bound to catch speeders heading north bound.
Summer Street near Indianapolis Boulevard
Hammond’s Finest hide behind buildings along north side of Summer Street. You can spot the front of the squads when it’s too late. Also, parked as if disabled on south side of street.
Sheffield Avenue near 129th Street
Police will sit on the west side, around 129th or 131st (approximately) street off Sheffield Avenue (right near Keil Chemical). Speed limit is 35, but there are very few businesses, few homes and no stops. It’s common to find yourself driving 45-50 when they nab you.
Kennedy Avenue near Michigan Avenue
Hammond’s finest set up shop just south of 12 and 20 (Michigan Ave.)on either side of the bridge. They come in cars, on motorcycles and even blatantly walk out into the street. They clock you as your car naturally speeds up while it rolls down the bridge, then wave you over into their assembly line justice.

These crafty Hammond Officers hide behind a old building. You are unable to see the squad at all because there aren’t any street lights on this section of the street. Speed limit is 35, vehicles travel around 50. Use radar and cross your fingers.
