Mishawaka, Indiana Speed Traps

Road transitions from 5 Lane to two lane midway between Capital and Fir due to jurisdiction change. This results in enforcement by city, county, and state (occasionally) patrols. Drivers turning off Capital are conditioned to cruising at 55+ and continue that speed on Douglas which is 40. City is usually marked cars, county is mix of marked and unmarked cars.

Several tickets issued for speeding and seat belt violations.

Speed limit is 30 to 35 after crossing into the St. Joseph county line while heading west out of Elkhart where it is 55. Cops lurk in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on the right and then further west near Penn High School and target Elkhart County plates.
