The street is 3 lanes in one direction. The posted speed limited for most of the street is 30 miles per hour. During the last mile before the expressway (I 64) the speed limit drops to 25 miles an hour. There is always at least one patrol car waiting just after the speed limit change. I see a car pulled over nearly every time I drive down that street.

Continuous construction on I-65 for about the last 2 years and for the next 2-3 years has made this stretch of road a dream for the IN State Police. Fines are doubled in the construction zone and they have the speed limit set down to around 45 mph. The construction barricades have openings about every half mile meant for the police to slip their cars in and run radar on unsuspecting truckers and vacationers. State Police especially love the out of towners due to the fact that it is a lot of trouble even for someone from Louisville to go to court in Seymour and plead innocent.
