Peru, Indiana Speed Traps
US Highway 31 near US Highway 24
I have been stopped on several occassions on US 31 just south of US 24. Every morning there are two police cars traveling in this area. If you get stopped by either one you are guaranteed to get a ticket.

I have been pulled over twice this year on this road while commuting to Kokomo; the speed limit is 40 but traffic rarely flows below 50. One time the officer was in an unmarked car parked in the Village Pool parking lot; the other, an unmarked car parked in the left shoulder just after a downhill curve.
Old US 24 leaving town on the west side
It is after you leave town going west in an area neer the NISCO gas station if you are not aware it would seem that the speed limit should be at least 45 – 55 however it is 35. I believe they use this speed trap when they need to write several tickets in a short period of time.

I have been pulled over twice by a black camaro in the Peru area. absolutely no indication that it is a police car until you see those flashing lights. Both times, the camaro was hanging out in the left lane, waited till I came up close enough to switch lanes, then slammed on the brakes and switched lanes behind me, then pulled me over. Recieved a ticket the first time, not the second. Only going 62-64 (in a 55 MPH zone) both times. Sweet-talking will NOT work; just hope he’s in a good mood.
Old ST. Rd. 24 or Main st.
AS you are heading east on old 24 they sit right by Eikenberry-Eddy funeral home, and if you are lucky enough to get pulled over and you decide to fight the ticket please remember this, when you see the judge 1/2 a mile over the speed limit is speeding to them.
