Schererville, Indiana Speed Traps

Officer sits in car with radar clocking approaching traffic both ways North and South directions. The officer sits on Schiller Street which is a small street next to the Classic Automotive Service building/warehouses which is right on Cline Avenue. The posted speed is 30mph there, but people often drive much faster!

Corner of Anna St. and Elizabeth Street, there is a stop sign. Make sure you stop completely, because there is a officer that sits about 1000 Fort behind the stop sign, and you can’t see him until you get up to the stop sign.

There is a stop sign on the corner of 85th Avenue and Morse Place in Crown Point, but its really unincorporated Schererville. So you will see a unmarked Lake County Sheriff’s car there sometimes about 1500 feet down from the stop sign on Morse Place corner. They occasionally sit there and try to catch people who don’t properly stop at the stop sign!

On Austin Ave. south of US30, usually parked in the cemetery entrance..also on Austin Ave. near the police station.

The speed limit drops to 20 mph when children are present at the baseball field. You can’t tell if there is a game going on if you are southbound and the police sit just south of the field as you are still trying to slow down to 20 mph.
