North River Road, near 52
Police often park near the Grotto or 52, where the speed limits drop to 50 and 40, respectively. People get pulled over for passing illegally as much as for speeding.
State Street @ River Road
Patrol parks just west of River Road (231) on the south side of the street in the Jiffy Lube parking lot. Patrol is not visible when coming down the hill until you’ve already passed.
Cumberland Park (Salisbury & LaGrange)
West Lafayette Police will sit right inside the Cumberland Park entrance across from LaGrange St. during the peak hours of the morning and afternoon commutes.
West Lafayette High School
West Lafayette Police will sit just inside several of the side streets (Foresthill, Leslie, Meridian, Dodge, Lawn) near the West Lafayette Jr/Sr High School and clock travelers.
North River Rd. near Levee Crossing
The WL police patrol between the levee and Happy Hollow drive in a continuous loop. This area is heavily trafficed by Purude students. They will make stops for any speed above the posted limit.
