Zionsville, Indiana Speed Traps
I-865
Along with hiding under the bridges in the center of the interstate. they also like tucking in to the right side of the bridge once they get past it. I saw one pull over to the right shoulder and then got way over to the right where you probably couldn’t see him until its to late. I have seen this done many times.
Along I-865
Interstate 865 is the dogleg connector between I-465 and I-65 on the south side of Zionsville and yet actually has no access to Zionsville streets but it does pass through the Zionsville city limits. Given that, the Zionsville police patrol this stretch of road often hiding under bridges or over the hill out of sight and nab you as you go by. The speed limit is mostly 65 but it drops off suddenly to 55 as you approach I-465 from the west. This lower speed limit does not seem necessary as far out as the change occurs so a lot of cars continue to drive 65 until they merge with I-465 and thus get caught.
