MVPD commonly sit at the car wash directly behind the Subway to watch the round-a-bout.
State Highway 30 near US Highway 1
Officers park their cars along the highway 30 both east and west of the Hwy 1&30 intersection. They are off the road and in the tall grass along the highway. Appears as if a car has gone off the road when coming upon them in the dark of the morning. They face either direction – east or west.
Hwy 30 between Mt. Vernon and Palisades Kepler State Park
Due to a large number of accidents in December that the police blame on speeding, the area of Hwy 30 between Palisades Kepler State Park and the city of Mt. Vernon has been targeted for heavy patrolling. Watch for marked cars along the sides of the road and the State Patrol (black cars). The target area is where Hwy 30 goes from 4 lanes to 2 lanes.
