City police hide in a farm driveway behind a row of trees/bushes on the east side of T17 south of Pella at the top of a hill on a small curve. The limit drops to 35 mph at the bottom of this hill. They also sit along the shoulder next to the Hwy 163 exit & entrance ramps.

City police like to sit behind viaduct pillars in the median between the east and west pella exits around 42 mile marker as it is in the city limits which the City of Pella expanded their city limits to do this.

The state troopers usually sit in the median very close to the first pella exit if you are coming from des moines. You can’t see them because of the terrain until you are right on them. So unless you are slowing down for the exit you are a prime target for them.

Between the Highway 163 Bypass and Ulrich Motor Company where the spped limit drops to 30 mph. (Near the Fareway Grocery store.) They have been parked in the rear of the Pella Engraving Parking lot to run their radar.
