Robins, Iowa Speed Traps
Police hide on the street right before the church where the four-way stop is.
Robins Road near the Cedar Valley trail crossing goes from 45 to 35 without the scenery (rural) changing or housing density increasing. The police sit right on the other side of the zone and regularly bust people for violating a city ordinance (so they get to keep the money).
Linn County and Iowa State Patrol typically have cars along the cooridor between Cedar Rapids and Centerpoint – especially Exit 28 for Toddville and Robins. Speed Limit is 65 but traffic is normally moving faster. They especially like to sit on the entry ramps East or West bound. Laser is the most detection method used.
