Andover, Kansas Speed Traps

If you’re driving east on 13th Street, after you pass 159th St, you will go up a slight hill. A cop will usually be parked on the right side, facing west, to get you after you come over the hill.

Coming into town on 21st the Andover Police will sit on the side of the road facing west and will radar you when you pop over a hill coming into town.

Enforcement is especially heavy when approaching Andover traveling from east headed west. There are some construction barricades about 100yd east of Andover Rd on Hwy 400. The smokies hide at this barricade and radar everything.

Speed reduces from 55mph to 40mph on 21st Street almost immediately after leaving Sedgwick County and entering Butler County. The only warning was "speed zone ahead" instead of "reduced speed ahead."

Construction zone on Hwy 54 that extends approx 1/4 mile both East and West of Andover Rd has a reduced speed of 45mph. However, this reduced speed extends 1 mile both East and West of Andover Rd. This is approx 1/2 mile of unneeded reduced speed both East and West of this construction zone.
Also, there is no indication of a reduced speed in either direction if you turn onto Hwy 54 from Andover Rd.
