Council Grove, Kansas Speed Traps

Westbound traffic coming into town on Hwy 56 from the east beware. There is a long downhill stretch right up to the city limit. One can’t coast without picking up speed. It’s impossible to slow down to the posted speed limit without braking. Of course the city cops are right there just inside the city limit with their radar. They take delight in writing tickets to K-State students heading back to school or anyone else with an out of the area license plate.
