Derby, Kansas Speed Traps
Buckner St. & Meadowlark Rd.
Officers hide in a parking lot just north of the intersection and run radar on southbound traffic. Speed limit drops from 40 to 30 very quickly. They sit back in the lot and there are some bushes making them hard to spot.
Madison Ave & Rock Rd.
Speed limit is 30 headed east on Madison. It changes to 40 after you cross over Rock Rd. Accelerate too quickly and they get you. They will usually sit in a parking lot at night with no lights on. Impossible to see them until its too late.
Meadowlark Rd & Community Dr.
Officer sits on the side street of Community and radars traffic moving east and west on Meadowlark. Lots of trees in the area and is hard to see until its too late.
K-15 south of town
Leaving Derby headed south on K-15 the speed limit is 40 even though it is a divided four lane highway and it extends a mile or two out of town until it raises to 60. Officers hide or patrol heavily at night.
Madison Ave & Mulberry Rd.
Officer sits in the city hall parking lot facing east mainly at night when you cant see them getting people going west on Madison Ave.
