Ogden, Kansas Speed Traps
State Highway 18 near Interstate I-70
Right at the Ogden KS city limits, on 18Hwy heading towards Fort Riley. There is a section of wide, grassy median that is depressed and invisible to highway traffic until about 100yards. The speed limit drops rapidly from 65 to 55 to 45 to 30 about 150 yards apart. A cop car will sit in the grassy median clocking all the traffic passing into the various zones. Sometimes a second cop car will be waiting in the parking lot by the convenience store a couple blocks into the town to pull over cars the first cop tags as speeders. From time to time a speed trap camera will be set up by the sidewalk next to the convenience store as well. Ogden is notorious as having one of the highest number of traffic tickets given in the entire state of Kansas.

Coming off of the base at Fort Riley where the posted speed limit is 45 you go into the little town of Ogden as soon as you cross that invisible line at the gate the speed limit is 25 and the locals will be sitting close by to get the soldiers and civilians that might forget it. drops down 20 miles an hour.
Huebner Road near State Highway 18
The speed limit goes from 55mph coming west from Manhattan down to 25mph in Ogden and back up to 40mph as you enter FtRiley, KS. If you are going east towards Manhattan, you wil be ticketed if you step on the gas too early as you go from 25mph to 55mph.
