Paola, Kansas Speed Traps
South Bound 169 & K68
Paola PD run radar from South Bound entrance ramp, you can’t see them till to late.
Paola uses 169 highway from K68 south to 327th street as a money maker.
Tower St & N Brayman St
No speed trap here for me today-got a ticket for answering my cell phone. Traffic was not heavy, I was not speeding. I have been driving for over 20 years and I am so very tired of being considered a sheep to be sheared.
North Silver Street
Paola police set trap covering a hill by the Country Club. When you reach the top of the hill, the speed goes from 45 to 35 and if you are slowing down, you’ll top the hill at more than 35mph. Tickets run about $105.
FYI Paola Police are watching complete stops and $170. fines. It’s a good idea to keep your foot on the brake until the car stops completely.
Baptista Road near State Highway 7
They look for out of county plates as one drives past Wal-Mart on the main road into town and right of the exit of a 70 mph state hiway. The speed limit is set low at 35 and traffic goes 40 to 45 as they look for out of county plates. It is in other parts of town as well.
Baptista Street near State Highway K7
Four lane avenue and main city access road just off state highway K7 (speed limit 70)about 1/4 mile west going past Wal-Mart. 35 mph is low for this major four lane compared to similiar areas in other area cities. They enforce it strongly with $135 ticket for 5 over and $160 ticket for 10 over. Town is in another county about 30 minutes south of KC metro area and they appear to look for out of county tags. Don’t just drive with the other traffic. We understand this is not the only place in town they try this stunt. Suggest people stay out of Paola.
