Park City, Kansas Speed Traps
Broadway, entering Park City’s from South after welcome sign
If you are traveling north into the City of Park City from the south, the police sit in a lot of a building and clock cars coming over the hill just after the Welcome to Park City Sign.
northern edge of Wichita
At 4:25 on 2/28/03 I was caught on radar going 39 mph in a school zone posted at 20. It was a gray, misty day and I never saw the school zone on 61st Street up in Park City. On this day there were two events at the Wichita Collisium complex- the state HS wrestling tournement and a Horse Expo. The truck I was driving had a 30 day tag on it from the Missouri auto dealership where we bought it on 2/10/03. The officer was surprised when he learned from my licence that I was a Kansas City, KS resident.
Lesson learned, don’t drive w/ out of state 30 day tags in Wichita. Watch out for short school zones in small towns at 4:25. I have a hunch that school zone speed expires at 4:30 every day but with two large events in Park City it’s a gold mine. The irony is this- I was leaving town much earlier than planned because of bad weather back up in KC. Since it’s a 2 1/2 hour drive I wanted to get going. FTR, in 30 plus years of driving I’ve never had any traffic ticket. The officer didn’t offer to give me a warning.
