North 16th Street (Highway 59) at the Labette Creek bridge

Parsons, KansasMay 04, 20100 Comments

At the Labette Creek Bridge on North 16th Street (Highway 59), south of Northern Blvd. or just north of Felix. The speed limit here drops immediately from 45 to 30, right at the south side of the bridge. Cops sit in a parking lot on the east side, across the street from a Chinese restaurant. Two blocks further south, the road goes uphill and cops will sit in another parking lot on the east side, hidden by the crest of the hill.

36th & Main

Local officers like to sit on the north side of Main, in the parking lot of a glass business. They catch drivers coming in from the west, where the speed limit drops from 55 to 45 to 30 between about 3700 and 3500 blocks of Main Street. I live a short distance from there and have seen countless cars get pulled over.

North of town on Hwy 59

There is a very popular trap coming from the north on hwy 59 as you enter into town and the speed limit changes drastically just before you go over a hill into town.

hiway 400 east of parsons

Parsons, KansasMar 01, 20020 Comments

as you enter town going west there is a shopping center (wal-mart grocery mcdonalds ect.) there is an alcove at the end of the shopping center with a row of trees and large shrubbs. they sit behind this and wait for incoming traffic from the east. the car can not be seen from that direction.i don’t think the limite is restrictive but i don’t like the idea that they hide and wait for you.

west at city limits on high way 400 and all over the city

Young cops that get a real thrill out of showing their authority and a police chief that has a quota system. You see more red lights in Parsons then most major cities
