Saint Marys, Kansas Speed Traps

When you are coming into St. Mary’s via Hwy 63 (heading southbound) the speed limit drops from 60–> 45–>30 very quickly and as you are going up and then down a hill on a turn as well. The 30mph is from the top of the hill down the other side into the town. The cop sits about 3 blocks down with Ka band Constant-On. I got a speeding ticket here for 43 in a 30. The cop even told me to watch for speed traps in small towns! He sits there in the evening almost every night.

The speed limit drops to 55 about a mile east of town but you only have 3 seconds to see the sign because it is hidden behind some bride signs.

This small town has a huge police force for it’s size,with marked cruisers AND Jeeps. Often, a cruiser sits at both ends of town on 24 Hwy where the limit drops from 65-45-30-20 REAL FAST. Watch out, especially like to pick them off on K-State game days.
