I-64 Mile Marker 44 work zone

State police like to set here on the eastbound fast lane side of mile marker 44.

West Main From Glenns Creek to the bridge.

Utility construction has this down from 4 to two lanes and the speed limit changed from 35 to 25mph. Police claim there are complaints of speeding. They do not seem to be running radar during the morning commute when traffic is the highest. A few mph over will get you stopped and they are not issuing warnings. Make of that what you will. Deterrence works better than post-offense money-collecting. Local PD was probably running 50mph or better running me down (virtually no traffic). Speed/safety is the problem and we’ll cure it by collecting cash after the fact.
It’s a bottle-neck area with no viable workaround. Easy picking.
Rude officer. Verified by others stopped in the same time period.

Intersection of Schenkel Lane & Stedmantown Lane

While technically not a speed trap the Franklin County Sheriff’s office has been giving tickets for “running” stop signs. Cars are stationed on Schenkel at a side entrance to a 4plex apartment just before the stop sign. Be sure to come to a complete stop, wait 1-2 seconds then go slowly through.

There is an access road entrance a couple of hundred yards east of MLK (on your right if you’re travelling eastbound). Frankfort PD likes to hide there.

Wilkinson Blvd at W Frankfort Conn to US 421 (Holmes St)

The speed limit signs have been changed fro 45 mph to 35 mph in anticipation of some new construction beginning the Spring. I have witnessed as many as 4 Frankfort police cruisers using radar in this short stretch and almost all have cars pulled over each time I drive through that area. It seems most enforcement is done during daylight hours especially during heavy drive times.
