Old Henry Road exchange with the Gene Snyder

Louisville, KentuckySep 29, 20030 Comments

This is a very busy exchange due to the Kroger Distribution Center and new construction of neighborhoods/strip centers. Marked cars will sit at both ends of Old Henry that cross over the Gene Snyder in order to monitor speeders in both directions. You will not be able to see the police cars until its too late because they are concealed by hills.

I-65 from Bullitt County Line to Easten Parkway

Louisville, KentuckyJan 01, 20010 Comments

This is a wide open (four lanes each way) section of freeway that is posted at 55 MPH. Of course traffic stays at 70+. The method of enforcement is stationary and mobile patrol cars (mostly unmarked and marked CAMAROS and Ford crown Vics but the police use a WIDE variety of vehicles.) Most often K band radar is used, but have experienced Ka and Laser (only once). Lasar detectors will go off around the airport triggered by autopilot landing equipment. However, laser often overrides a detecor’s radar detection function so be careful. This section is patrolled by Kentucky DOT, Jefferson County PD, and Louisville PD. Jefferson County and Louisville officers are prone to searching young people and minorities on the road side (like all your stuff laid out in the emergency lane). This is part of some drug interdiction program to stop smuggling up I-65. Tickets can usually be beat in court by paying the attorney of your choice around $200.
