KY 344

I got a ticket on Cranston Road because I was doing 54 mph on approach to a 35 mph speed zone, BEFORE ANY SIGNS! Beware of the wolves. They lurk to get us.

State Highway 32

Be careful anywhere in Morehead. It is a university town and there are plenty of out of towners to give tix to.

It is also a State Trooper office.

As you come down the hill (Southbound) on KY 32 into town speed limit quicky descends from 55 to 35. Officers will be waiting in parking lots on your right to ticket you.

They also Strongly patrol school zones and 35 MPH limit in city.

State Highway 32 near Between I-64 and US 60

Morehead, KentuckyMay 14, 20050 Comments

Morehead City Police and State troopers sit in the parking lots on the right side of KY 32 if you are heading south towards US 60. The speed limit is 55 right before the parking lots but rapidly decreases to 45 then 35 immediately after the lots. There are shrubberies and bushes that conceal half of the first lot where the police normally sit.

Interstate 64 near Exit Number 137

A Kentucky state police barracks lay just off of this notorious interchange. The speed limiit is 65 MPH (yawn!), and is enforced quite well in the Morehead region. On a Friday in May, I came upon the interchange heading eastbound on I-64, when sitting in the entrance ramp from KY 32, were FIVE state troopers were sitting! One state trooper was already 1/2 mile ahead and had someone pulled over.
