Richmond, Kentucky Speed Traps
I-75 just south of Exit 87
This is a training area for the Kentucky Police Acadamy in Richmond. They sit at the end of the concrete divider and again at the emergency cross over just south of here (about mile 86). I have seen trainees, State Police and empty trainee cars.
Robert Martin Bypass, 876(new bypass as of 2000)
KSP will be stationed in the unused access points and sometimes in the Middle of the bypass. speed limit is 55 and they will allow up to 63 with really no comment. 64+ gets a ticket. As of 2003 speeding 10 above is a 140$ fine. There is no discount on traffic school in Madison County.
I-75 between Exit 90 and mile marker 95
Routinely patrolled by sheriff, unmarked cars, and state troopers. Usually two cars placed in the median to catch traffic north and south bound. Will stop cars exceeding speed limit by 10 mph.
