State Highway 190

Avoyelles Parish, LouisianaSep 12, 20080 Comments

There are two quick speed changes about 20 miles east of Opelousas. A highway patrol car sits right after the "one lane" and the first "reduce speed" sign and says the speed limit is the lesser one where your car finally stops. Less than 100 feet back the speed limit is 65 and 2 quick signs reduce it to 45.

Interstate 49

I-49 North and South is normally 70 mph, On both the southern and Northern entrance to the city of Alexandria, the speed limit drops to 60 mph. A state trooper will be sitting with one mile of the reduced speed sign usually out of sight line at the bottom of an overpass rise. Area is unpopulated cow pasture.
