Baskin, Louisiana Speed Traps

The entire length of the Village is highly suspect

Baskin is nothing more than a speed trap; that is the only “revenue” for the village. You need not have been speeding, you will get a ticket. Avoid this crooked little town.

This town has been a well-known trap for a long time. They were ranked the top speed trap in the state when over 80 percent of revenue for the year was from traffic tickets. The state recently made them raise the speed limit, and it didn’t seem to help any. Drive through town anytime and you are guaranteed to see at least one of the Four cruisers in this town of 250 people (two of which are new) still at it.

this town(village) is approx 1/2 mile city limit to city limit—-1 caution lite—4 police cars for 24 hour service–there could’nt be over 100 residents

As I was comeing off a highway into a turn, the speed was 55 then it turned into a 45 mph speed limit which the sign was not visiable untill the lights of a police car is at your backside. The officer was very nice but why do they have to lie and tell stories about how fast you are going? She said I was doing 61 in a 45. AWWW how can a person fight this?
