Bastrop, Louisiana Speed Traps
Coming southbound the speed limit drops from 65 to 55 at this bridge. Cop sitting at the end of the bridge. He followed me almost 1/2mi before he actually pulled me over, then wrote the ticket for speeding at the bridge even though I began to slow down when I saw the speed limit sign, he’d already radared me. BS
The speed limit dips to 25… The road is four-lanes. Its hard to go 25. The cop is usually parked in the school board office at night. Sometimes during the day, there is a small shed on the side of the road the cop parks in. I usually it there every other day.
Cop pulls beside railing on roadway where the speed limit is 50 but it’s right before it increases to 65 mph.
As you come into town on 165 from the south (Monroe, Sterlington) you will come to a big bend to the right. This is the area refered to as "Point Pleasant" where there was an old French trading post. There are now bars, a convenience store and a truck stop in the curve. The limit drops quickly to 35 and the police are waiting there, ticket book in hand.
