Covington, Louisiana Speed Traps
On W. 8th St. between S. Tyler St. and S. Monroe St. (near Hospital)
On W 8th Street there is a sewage pumping station about 1/2 block from St. Tammany Hospital on the left (going towards Jahncke Ave.) where Covington’s finest often hide with radar in their effort to raise revenues.
Hwy 190 at Red Light by Covington High School Road
State Police were in uniform but in unmarked cars standing in the street flagging down on coming cars checking for inspection sticker and seat belts. They were at the curve going towards Hwy 190 red light with Covington High School acrosss the highway.
15th Street near Patricia Drive
1/4 mile east on 15th Street by the River Forest Bridge. Covington Police will park the vehicles and stand behind the bridge with hand held detection equip. You may not see them until you are right there but they are in plain view. They are there early morning and evening weekends but may be there anytime.
Jahncke Avenue near South 12th Avenue
While traveling either noth or south on Jahncke Avenue, one of Covington’s finest sits in front of St Paul’s High School under the Oak tree and shoots the school zone in the entrance to the school. This is a bad curve so drive the school zone limit of 20 MPH or a ticket will be issued. This occurs mostly during school drop off & pick up times.

The police sit there to mess with you. Don’t worry, the traffic court judge is a pushover!
