Denham Springs, Louisiana Speed Traps
Louisiana 3002. between Range Ave and Rodeo Drive.
Usually on left side of street on far side of old Winn Dixie building.
This is a reoccurring speed trap.
The officer(s) will usually be on far side of building and many times you won’t see them until it’s too late.
For some reason this section of street turns into a 25mph zone without a lot of warning. I think I’ve seen state cops here, too.
This spot seems to be a VERY big money maker for the police.
Highway 16 at Amite Church Road
Particularly early morning, a trooper will sit in the car wash lot waiting for speeders or anyone running the red light.
Hwy 16 in Watson by Paradise Pools
State Troopers routinely sit in the parking lot of paradise pools just waiting for anyone driving what the speed limit should be. Hwy 16 is a freshly paved 4 lane Hwy with full shoulders, turn lanes and a speed limit of 45. The speed limit use to be 55 back when this road was only a 2 lane. Why it is not 55 is a mystery but the state Police are very aware of it and they sit there and will wave you over. Everyone drives 55 on this road, it needs to be changed.
