Juban Road near Interstate 12 Overpass
The new overpass has a posted speed of 45. this road has been posted 50/55 for past 40 yrs. with the road in not very good condition. Now that this short portion of the road has been widened to four lanes and very smooth, the speed limit has been lowered for this short stretch to 45mph. Is is needed, possibly! Is it equitable, considering the past 40 plus years and previous road conditions, NO!
Linder Road near South Street
Livingston Parish Motorcycle cops usually radar Linder Rd. off of South St., usually you cant see them until you get up on them.
John L Lane near Buddy Ellis Road
Speed Limit is 25 mph. Sheriff Deputies volunteer to work overtime hours on weekends to give out tickets. Mostly motorcycle cops, they hide behind subdivision fences and pop out to flag you down. You will not see them until you almost run over them, because they will jump out in front of you. Set your cruise control. This 4.5 mile stretch of country road makes it difficult maintain a 25-30 mph speed for 7-9 minutes. The deputies know this and do not issue warnings.
State Highway 16 near Denham Springs Elementary School
State Police and DSPD like to hide across from the Elementary School and Radar people coming through the school zone. There is 1 school zone at DS High school that ends, but abruptly starts up again in front of DS Elementary. They also check safety stickers and will wave you to the side of the road for a ticket for that.
