Local city police (called robocop) waits for those who travel more than 25 miles per hour where the speed limit drops to 25 from the usual higher allowed speed. He is there often and hides behind the buildings & used hand held radar to get his unsuspecting prey

Either radar or lidar. Officer asked if I was employed. When he wrote ticket and showed me how much over speed limit he claimed I was going, I exclaimed that it wasn’t possible. He failed to show me screen. Locals inform me this is notorious spot that targets "outsiders", especially since Katrina.

There is a one mile strip of the interstate marked off somewhere around the hwy 30 exit in Gonzales where an airplane clocks the speed of vehicles. Just before the first Gramercy exit there is usually a large group of state police pulling people over. I mostly see this on weekends around Holidays… However the got me in the middle of the week with no holiday in sight.
