Grand Isle, Louisiana Speed Traps
The Grand Isle PD officer singled me out of the middle of a group of 3 cars. the speed goes from 45 to 25 as soon as I encountered the 25 MPH speedzone I let off the gas and began reducing speed. The office radared me about 200 fet past the first 25 MPH sign. I got a ticket for 38 in a 25.
There are numerous traps on the way down to the island. Just before the island the speed drops from 50 to 25 mph. Then picks back up to 45 on the other side of the bridge. Then a couple miles down it drops back down to 25 mph. Beware make sure you keep a sharp eye out for the posted speed limits and follow them!
The speed limit when you first arrive on the island is 45mph, you will get a ticket at 48mph. Also, further along the highway the speed limit drops to 25mph, this is no secret beings there are flashing signs to warn you. However, I have witnessed a police officer shutting one of the afore mentioned signs off and parking along-side of one of the houses near where the sign is. They will ticket you for 27mph. Set the cruise and just ride.
