Kenner, Louisiana Speed Traps
Interstate I-10 west bound near Interstate I-310
this is on I-10 west bound just past the 310 split. one or sometimes two state troopers are radaring from outside of their vehicles parked in the emergency lane to the right. the speed limit is 60 although most people drive 70 MPH. i don’t know at what speed they are ticketing drivers. i usually have cruise control on going 65 and have not been pulled over.
Fairway Drive near 15th Street
Fairway Dr. is 20mph with high traffic due to a Child Care Business at one end, and runs between Airline Hwy. and West Metairie with 3 Stop Signs along the way. The Officers park on the cross streets to watch the Stop Signs and use Radar to nail you going over 20mph.
Kenner Avenue near George Street
Radar taken Between Hanson Ave. and George St. On Kenner Ave.
Power Boulevard near Vintage Street
Between West Esplanade and the Lake going toward Vintage St. the Kenner Police hide in driveways backing Power Blvd. and radar, catching several people per day. Watch your speed while traveling in this location.
3rd Street near Williams Boulevard
The section of 3rd Street from Williams Blvd. to Alliance is a speed trap. The speed limit used to be 30MPS which was slower than the areas past Williams and past Alliance. Even at this time, enforcement was very strict. Now, they have lowered the speed limit in this area to 20MPH. I don’t even pass here anymore. I’m in my 60’s and had never had a speeding ticket before, but was pulled over for speeding and at that time, the speed limit sign was hidden by a tree branch. Beware if you drive in this area.
