Speed drops quickly from 45 to 35

Westbound on hwy 190, same location as other reports. No updates since 2012. Three years later the speed now goes from 65 to 55 with no warning. Cops still very happy to write you a ticket.

on hwy 190 between baton rouge and Opelousas, LA speed limit goes from 65mph to 45 prior to bridge on the edge of krotz springs westbound.

Police park by a service station pointing their radar along a 1 mile stretch back to a curve and a bridge. The speed limit drops from 65 to 45mph east of the bridge and curve. Somehow their radar can judge speeds a mile away and traveling at 90 degree angle. When you get into town they stop you and state that you will lose your lic, but they will work with you. $100. money order takes care of it. They don’t send the ticket to the state.

Coming from New Orleans where we had been for three weeks as our son had had open heart surgery (his fourth). Doing 57 coming down from bridge (it goes to 45 rapidly) My foot was on brake pedal slowing down and young officer at foot of bridge zapped me anyway. He even commented on my son laying on back seat with bandaged chest…..and wrote the ticket anyway. I used to stop in this town and buy snacks/gas,etc. but no more!
