Mamou, Louisiana Speed Traps
State Highway 13 South
I didn’t know why I was being stopped, the speed limit was
60 MPH, cop told me it went down to 45 on a corner that I
came around. He gave a 59 in a 45, the ticket is going to cost
$ 174. A real money making machine!

From Hwy.104(Oberlin Rd.)to Hwy.1160(Poinciana Ave.),law enforment officers in the for Mamou Police and La.State Police have no mercy on speeders or suspicous drivers. The speed limit through this small town is 55mph, but since this road is newly remodled, it is easy to speed. When the road you are driving on is like a two lane freeway with a speed limit of 55 it is easy to get carried away. Most people often find themselfs doing anywhere from 60mph to 85mph. They often forget that they are about to enter the intersection of Hwy.104 and Hwy.13, so they just go through it like it’s no big deal. But little do these drivers know that on the back of this cruve that the intersection is located on is a law enforment officer that is ready to ticket you in all corners plus some. Just remember that when you see the caution light on the southeren edge of town, even though the speed limit is 55, I would do 50 just to play it safe.These officers don’t play around!
