Mandeville, Louisiana Speed Traps
monroe Street
When driving down Monroe street in either direction, be careful when you get near Mandeville Elementary School or the road that goes to Sunset Point. There is a tree that cops park under on the left side of the road by the school if you are going east. The cops normally leave there radar on all the time but I have seen them turn it on at the last second. My VALENTINE ONE has always saved me but other radars might not so BEWARE! The speed limit is 30 mph normally or 25 mph during school time. They also will have radar trailers set up on Monroe street to give you your speed on occasion so don’t be surprised if your radar goes off and there are no pigs to be seen. All of Monroe street is a speed trap so never go above 45 or you are TOAST!
Causeway
Cops sit in bridge cross-overs with lights off, hard to see especially at night. Slow down when you see "Crossover in 1/2 mile" sign, check for cops, then OK to proceed. Limit is 55, I have seen people get away with 70 in front of police.
